Bicalutamide belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-androgens and is used together with another medicine to treat stage D2 metastatic prostate cancer in men. It works by blocking the effects of testosterone, which helps stop the growth and spread of cancer cells. Bicalutamide will always be given together with a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone like goserelin or leuprolide. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
